Connect your Google Nest camera to storage you own.
Nest cameras connect through Google’s Device Access API as a beta bridge on your own hub. Google limits live streams.
- 1
Install the Unicam hub
- Install Unicam on a Mac or Windows PC, or run the hub on a Raspberry Pi, NAS or Docker host on the same network as the camera.
- 2
Get the stream link
- Nest needs a Google Device Access project of your own
- Paste the nest:// source link into Unicam
- 3
Add it in Unicam
- Open Add camera and pick “Google Nest”
- Paste the link and give the camera a name
- Unicam checks the stream before saving it
- 4
Choose where footage goes
- Sign in to Google Drive, Dropbox or OneDrive, or add a NAS, S3, B2, R2 or Wasabi destination
- Pick a record mode: Events (motion only), Smart 24/7 or Continuous
- Every clip is encrypted on the hub before upload
Good to know
- Google ends Device Access live streams after a few minutes and they must be restarted, so continuous recording is limited.
